retrosketches #25 - part two

Another project for the same challenge at retrosketches

Again something for Xmas. This time in blue.

I know you can't see it in the picture but the whole background is shiny (perfect pearls).
Don't know the manufacturer of papers.
And as in the previous one [here] the bow was made with my personal "bow-maker"!

Love,
elleth

retrosketches #25

Another challenge at retrosketches :)
This time I decided to go with something Xmas-y.

Can't name the papers, 'cos I wasn't buying the full pad. Maybe you know whom they're from?

Oh, and the cute bow is made with help from "bow-maker" my boyfriend made for me - more on this later ;)

Take care

retrosketches challenge #23

It's a warm weekend here. And a weekend means a time for another challenge at retrosketches.

This card wad made using Papermania Capsule Lincoln Linen 8x8 paper pack.

(sorry for the quality of the photo, but the lightning in my room sucks!)

Part of the front is made from the acetate and when the card is closed it shows the pattern underneath.

To give a bit more dimension to the butterflies I've punched several layers from vellum and added them beneath the shape punched from the craft cardstock.

Did not have the gold rhinestones so I've used brown Promarker to change color of silver ones.

Have a good night

retrosketches challenge #22

This card I've made for the challenge at retrosketches blog -
http://retrosketches.blogspot.com/2012/07/retrosketches-22.html

It was also inspired by the post @ Whiff of Joy -
http://whiffofjoy.blogspot.com/2012/07/joy-fold-card.html

The ribbon with the button on the right serves also as a closure system (with little magnets attached both to ribbon and the front panel of the card).

The card uses:
Simple Stories Fabulous 6x6 paper pack
Fizzy Moon Celebrations Little Messages clear stamps
Distress inks in Vintage Photo and Old Paper

Take care,

Cards for M&M

As soon as I've read this article http://simonsaysstampblog.blogspot.com/2012/07/cards-for-maddy-card-drive.html I knew I wanted to make something too. It doesn't cost me much and can make someone's day a bit brighter.
The idea for a card came to me instantly.

 Fun, colorful, shiny.

I've added clear glitter to the sun and something like perfect pearls to the background to make it shine and shimmer. Done a bit 3D paper piecing to make the card more interesting.

Other supplies I used:
- Paper Smooches free digital stamps (http://papersmooches.blogspot.com/p/free-digi-stamps.html) - LOVE them!
- Letraset Promarkers
- Glossy Accents by Ranger
- Doodlebug Beetle Black Medium Rub-ons

Maddy, Melanie - my warm thoughts are with you. Fight!

Thank you!

This two thank you cards were made as gift for my cousin and a dear friend of mine. From both I received some gorgeous gift and surprises.

This one was made entirely from Up, up & away papers by First edition and was totally inspired by them. As soon as I saw the circular frame as a part of one of the papers I knew I'll be using it as a central element in my card.

This one was inspired by one of the cards from http://stamptv.ning.com/. Made it with papers from Portobello Road collection that were a gift in docrafts Creativity magazine, issue 33.

Welcome baby girl

This cute card was requested by my cousin. It finally gave me a chance to use baby stampset (by Viva decor) I've bought just because it was so adorable.

Clothes were colored with Promarkers and paper pieced to give them some dimension. Sky behind them is done by me with Ranger's Distress Ink. Light pink paper is from Marianne design Pretty Papers Bloc - Soft Pastels and the dark pinks are from DCWV The Mini Stack 3.

The inside greeting was computer generated and uses one of amazing digistamps from http://melonheadzillustrating.blogspot.com/ <-check them out. There are tons of ever so cute freebies to use :)

The girl in the stamp is also colored with Promarkers and paper pieced

What do you think?

Holy Communion

This project was requested by a friend of mine. He wanted a card for a girl's First Holy Communion.
I wanted to do something different than usual flowers and lace. I decided to go with one of Gorjuss clear stamps - Purrfect Pals. I truly adore this one. The girl is so cute.
Done a bit of 3D paper piecing and for the first time in my life used alcohol based markers - newest addition to my crafty supplies (Promarkers by Letraset - a gift for my birthday) Love them! Though I need to buy myself an ink that doesn't bleed in contact with them :P

Love,

Fonchito y la luna

The card I have for you today was inspired by an awesome book by Mario Vargas Llosa - Fonchito y la luna. I fell in love with that book the moment I've read it. Immediately it became an idea for an anniversary gift for my boyfriend. I wanted to show him the Moon too :*

And I did show him the Moon - I took him to the planetarium.

5-minute card

A very quick project, done in like five minutes. No patterned paper. Just some colorful cardstock and a bit of Ranger's Distress Ink.

Made as a gift for my friend, after she had some kind of surgical procedure.
Like it?

Shiny birthday card

Hi,
This is the card and alternated binder clip card/photo holder I've made for a friend of mine. She likes everything that shine so I decided she needed very feminine, delicate and shiny (of course) birthday card.
The patterned papers I've used are from Pampered Pets collection.

Hope you like it.
Have a great weekend.

Thank you card

Today I want to share with you a thank you card I made for my friend, who promised to buy and send me something from the US.

The idea came from this blog. http://papercuts.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ This girl has some amazing cards on her site. I used few oh her designs as an inspiration for my card.
Be sure to check her web too.

Masculine birthday cards

Today I have two cards to show.
First one was a gift for my boyfriend's birthday. It is basically made from a page of some old tv manual, brads and Distress inks. Perfect for My Little Handyman :*

Second one was made for my father's birthday. Quick and simple. A bit more boyish, I guess.

Different and smaller than usual card, but for some reason I enjoy this format very much.

Have a nice evening :)

Birthday set and notebooks.

Today I have for you a little birthday set I've made for a friend of mine.
A shaker card

A gift card holder

And a little notebook

Each made from the same paper pack.

Similarly to the one above I've made two additional notebooks for my boyfriend and his mom as an Easter gift.

Valentine's Mailbox

It's long past Valentine's Day but I still have one more project to share with you.
It was my gift for my Sunshine.
The general idea and template for this cute mailbox came from this amazing blog: http://damasklove.blogspot.com/2011/02/valentines-day-project-3.html
Now the details:

The little bee idea came from this picture: http://bellaconfetti.blogspot.com/2010/06/more-punch-art-animals.html, though I modified the design to fit the punches I had. As for the idea of decorated paper clips - it's based on http://whiffofjoy.blogspot.com/2012/01/special-paper-clips-in-decorated-glas.html.

The altered binder clips idea is from this blog http://scraptime.ca/blogpage/?p=472. The little bee on the binder clip is a magnet.

Be sure to check out all the mentioned places for more creative inspiration.

Bloody valentines.

I made an agreement with my friend - he will take care of my blog, make it professional and cool and as a reward I will make a card for him.
For now I did my part. (Sun - you'd better make my blog beautiful! :D)
He requested a valentine's day card based on arlequin's outfit. With blood spatters. An unusual request for a valentine's day card, don't you think?
Went for a sort of shabby look, hence the imperfect diamond design (white embossing powder and masking technique) and Ranger's Crackle accents. Because of lack of other medium blood spatters are made form diluted nail polish.
The card is designed to hold a small CD inside.

Decoupage aperture card

A card I made with my boyfriend for his mum's birthday.
Simple, easy and fast to make. The most time consuming thing was to cut out and put together a bunny decoupage (decoupage shits from docrafts Creativity magazine).
Papers are from Echo Park Paper (Happy Days). And the aperture is made with Fiskars ShapeCutter.

75th anniversary of solemn vows

My father asked me to make a card for a nun from his family, an aunt or something. She's just celebrating her 75th anniversary of solemn vows. She's 99 and partially blind so I decided for a card to be a little bigger than the one's I usually make (A5 instead of A6).
Also all the embellishments are bigger. Hope she sees something...

I embossed the black cardstock with black embossing powder. Cut out the numbers from cardstock and embossed them with gold embossing powder. Added some flowers, brads and golden ribbon.
Not my usual style, but the recipient is special too :)

The new girl in town

I've been thinking about having a blog for some time now. With encouragement from my loved one finally put that plan into action.
So what are you going to see here?
Basically stuff that I make from paper. For now on mostly cards. Time will tell in which way this creative passion grows.
Wish me luck :)

Oh, why in English? Why not! Let's just say I prefer it to Polish. :)
